Hello Beautiful and/or Handsome! Thanks for stopping by to get to know more about Drake Social and me. Where to start? Well, I have a very diverse background that includes interior design, construction management, finance and project management (I jumped around a bit). Graduating from the University of Alabama  in 2008 with an interior design degree wasn't the best timing, as the economy was crashing and jobs were slim pickings. So, the determined, independent, oblivious woman in me decided to jump into banking. I got started at a Credit Union and worked my way up from the bottom, right up to the middle! Not only did I gain incredible experiences there, I also found my loving and one-of-a-kind husband.

When I met my husband, I was in the middle of getting my Masters in Construction Management from Georgia Tech.  So, between my full-time job, classes at night, and dreaming of finding my place in this world in my middle 20's... I may have been a challenge to be around! :) I guess he was intrigued by my organized chaos and decided stick with me because right before I graduated, he popped the question. Cross off grad school and add wedding planning! Luckily, this is where the fun began.

I had so many ideas and visions for what would make a beautiful wedding. I seriously planned two completely different weddings; beach and ballroom. TWO wedding dresses, TWO venues and TWO guest lists... Yea. I needed help. So I hired Emily from Stella Harper Events (SHE) to plan my wedding at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta. She made me pick just ONE wedding, but this was a sign! Wedding planning tapped on my design skills, project management, financial knowledge, AND my type A personality.

After celebrating the best day of my life, I knew I couldn't leave the wedding space forever. I was constantly looking at wedding blogs and creating magical weddings in my head. I needed back in! That's where Emily came to the rescue for a second time: she offered me a chance to be a lead coordinator at SHE. She introduced me to the best vendors around, and gave me invaluable advice and guidance. Shout out to the amazing SHE girls! After spending 2 1/2 years planning and assisting with over 40 weddings, I knew this was my passion. It was time to step out on my own, and create Drake Social.  

Drake Social fulfills two dreams of mine: wedding planning and being a small business owner. This company has lived in my heart since I was a little girl. It just took great mentors, guidance and luck to bring it out. And now that it's here, I can't wait to share my passion and drive to work with brides and grooms around the country.
