I started Drake Social with a passion for creating beautiful events that push the boundaries of southern style. I’ve always appreciated classic elegance but am driven to add edge and flare onto traditional designs. My inspiration comes from traveling to Europe and the west coast. Staying open minded to new cultures, traditions and styles ensures uniqueness within each wedding.
I’m an Atlanta native living in Decatur with my husband and little fur baby, Daisy (by little, I mean 75 lb American Bulldog). I love animals and would have a farm full of rescue pit bulls if I could. I have a diverse background that includes interior design, construction management, finance and project management. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Interior Design and later picked up a Master’s from Georgia Tech in Construction Management.
I realized my passion for wedding planning as I was planning my own wedding with Drake Social. I love the logistical side of planning and seeing everything come together on the wedding day! My favorite wedding style is romantic industrial. There’s just something about transforming a modern industrial space into a dreamy wedding that gives my creative mind so much satisfaction! I’m an avid sports fan, so it’s hardly a coincidence that I met my husband, Brad, at a tailgate for a Falcon’s game.
I grew up in the Atlanta area, and I went to college at the University of Georgia where I majored in Special Education. I also have a Master’s degree in Special Education from West Virginia University. I have been teaching students with intellectual disabilities for the past 10 years. Patience, organization, and attention to detail are just a few of the strengths that I bring from the classroom to the wedding planning world.
Growing up, my family and I traveled to the same resort in Hilton Head Island every summer. I remember as a little girl always being mesmerized by all of the details that went into the various weddings and events that the resort hosted during our stays. I couldn’t help but think how much I wanted to be a part of something like that one day. Right out of college, I started my first “adult” job as an Event Coordinator at a venue in Buford, Georgia. Since then, my passion for event planning has only grown deeper and my design style has evolved into more of a moody romantic feel with a girly golden glow.
I grew up in Alpharetta, and have recently moved back into the area with my husband after living in Brookhaven for the past several years. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with degrees in Psychology and Business Management. In our free time, my husband and I love to travel, watch college football, and spoil our black Labrador puppy, Maddie!
I recognized my passion for weddings after being a bridesmaid for the better half of the last decade. I’ve attended and been a part of so many weddings that my mother began calling me “27 Dresses.” After being a part of so many weddings, I became captivated by watching each aspect come together to create something sensational on the big day. With a background in public relations and event planning, coordinating weddings was a perfect fit.
I grew up just outside of Atlanta and received my bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with a concentration on Public Relations from the University of West Georgia. After working in the corporate world as an Account Director, I’ve recently decided to return to UWG to complete my Masters in Business Administration. When I’m not at a wedding or studying, I like to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Society in Smyrna.
